Working on a next release, but… I need your help!

I am going to bug you once again about my need for more feedback, because the truth is that I really need it.

I worked tonight on a few, minor improvements to the plugin’s code. Also, I tried to reproduce the problem that some users have reported: not being able to save the fanlisting’s URL (a post metadata value that is essential for this plugin to work). However, so far, I have been unable to. My own installations of FanPress work perfectly, all data being saved as it should. So, I need more people willing to install and try this plugin on their own WordPress environments, to gather more information about the problem and its source, and ultimately, try to resolve it.

To anybody who reads this, if you are a WordPress user, even if you’re not into fanlistings, I would appreciate that you helped me test this. I don’t want to release another version of FanPress until I have demystified this issue. If you decide to help, please contact me so we can exchange information.

Thank you in advance!

Note: I am about to release version 0.17, anyway. This version includes some bug fixes and code improvements. I don’t know if this will solve the current problems (as explained in this post), but let’s hope so.

Still alive!

Hello, there!

I just wanted to let you guys know that I am still around. I haven’t given up on this plugin nor anything like that. It’s just that, as soon as the semester started, I had to focus on other things. Right now I am on Christmas break, so I have time to answer any questions, continue giving support and developing the plugin.

I have been reported that, in some cases, with the latest version of FanPress, the fanlisting’s URL is not being saved. I would like to gather more information about this bug, but for that, I need your help. Thing is, it seems to work for me in the several WordPress installations where I’ve tested the plugin, so I don’t know what exactly may be causing this. Any feedback is highly appreciated!

Thank you to those who have taken the time to test my plugin and offer some feedback. I truly appreciate it, and I hope FanPress can be of use to any of you.

See you again soon!

Version 0.15 is up!

Hey there! Back again with a new release.

Users were having problems with seeing the Fanlistings menu appear in their admin panels, but now that should be solved. It was a dumb mistake on my end, where I forgot to revert an option I was playing around with. Just a line of code. As soon as I removed it, things were working again as expected. This is what happens when you get excited and become careless.  :P

Self-Note: be more careful next time!

To everyone who tested the plugin, thank you very much. I wouldn’t have found out about this without your help. :)

See you again soon!

FanPress still looking for testers!

I am very interested in knowing how this plugin works for other users. So, please, if you have a WordPress site and own or have joined any fanlistings, please consider testing FanPress. I want this to be a real alternative for fanlisting collectives, if I can.

Also, if you end up liking FanPress and decide to use it, let me know of your site, and I’ll add it to the Showcase page!

In the meantime, I’ll be around, so feel free to contact me whenever you want. :3 See ya.
