This is a trailer created by a player and supporter of our online RPG project, SilverQuest. I am very fond of it. It brings back precious memories.

SilverQuest (or SQ) is an online RPG with a style of its own, but inspired by the 80′s gaming.  It has also been compared to a roguelike, but I would not agree so much, except for perhaps in the visual style.  The game was released under the Opera Gaming Network (OGN) “brand,” founded by Wolfgang Wozniak (Ouren).

When we started the project, it wasn’t something we were really serious about.  We completed the first release in less than four days and immediately launched it.  Who would have imagined that the small community in which we first launched it would be so excited about it?  Many people liked it, and both Wolfgang and I became motivated.

We started expanding the game, but especially him, and soon we had so much in our hands.  But things happen, and the responsibilities in each of our lives took over, and all came to a sudden halt.  We have tried to return to those times, but it has not been easy.

SQ can still be played, but its only server is usually empty, except for maybe us when we are working on some of the game’s features. However, I continue to encourage everyone to give it a try, invite your friends, make suggestions, contribute to its possible growth; motivate us to keep going. Wolfgang had taken it down, but with much pain in his heart; until he finally found someone willing to host the server, and it was brought back.

I would like to continue working on this project, if time and creativity allow; but since I am on a Mac now, it is not so easy. We want to move the game to a cross-platform engine eventually, because right now it is only available on Windows.
