I would like there to be a Mac OS X compatible version, but I guess there’s no interest on the developer’s part. Maybe some fan, or even myself, could try making an unofficial Mac port? I’m not sure. We’ll see. Anyway, seems a lot better than Cubelands… I’d like to try it. Also, who can beat the price “free”? I welcome these games. Keep ‘em coming!

It is a man’s own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.
Spelunky World
Spelunky for Windows
“Legends speak of a Colossal Cave that extends deep underground, so twisted by time that its passages shift like the sand under which it lies… the Cave is said to be filled with fabulous treasures, but also incredible danger!”
Spelunky is a cave exploration / treasure-hunting game inspired by classic platform games and roguelikes, where the goal is to grab as much treasure from the cave as possible. Every time you play the cave’s layout will be different. Use your wits, your reflexes, and the items available to you to survive and go ever deeper! Perhaps at the end you may find what you’re looking for…
Don’t be afraid to die! But also don’t be afraid to live! Happy Spelunky-ing!

What People Are Sayin’ about Spelunky
“Challenging, addictive, thoughtful and beautiful, Spelunky is a stream of constant delight. The icing on the cake is that it’s free… There are no excuses not to play this. You have been warned.” -Lewis Denby, HonestGamers
“While failure is a part of life, in Spelunky every play feels like a fresh chance to get it right.” – Gus Mastrapa, Paste Magazine
“The game maintains a nice balance of tight precision puzzles and breezier areas that let your caver stretch his legs. And while the visuals are chunky, everything in the game, from flaming frogs to yetis, moves with a carefully calibrated grace.” -John Teti, The Onion A.V. Club
“Derek Yu’s Spelunky may well be one of the most unassumingly mindblowing games of the last 10 years.” -Anthony Burch, The Escapist

What’s up, blog?
So, yeah…
Lately, the few posts I’ve actually added here have usually been micro-posts, little blurbs or stuff I’ve found in my Web surfing adventures. Honestly, I believe this place deserves a lot more love and attention than that. And thus, here I am, trying to write something.
After the death of Chimi, many things have happened in my life. Still, even though many of these happenings are quite sad, and some even depressing, I believe this year has been much better than the previous one, and for that I’m very, very grateful. :)
I’ve decided to let go of Chimi. I still dream about my little baby sometimes, but I know there’s nothing I can do for him anymore, but to remember him merrily, and honor him by taking good care of my other cats. I’ve decided to make yearly donations to the Winn Feline Foundation, in the hopes that, one day, we’ll find a cure for Feline Leukemia and other terrible diseases. I’m trying my best to be a better guardian for my feline friends, and support as many of them as I can, from now on.
As some of you know already, I’ve started doing freelance work; and I’ve already done a few things! I fulfilled my first client’s request, and I’m starting to work with a second one now. This second project is quite big, and I’m learning many new things on the road. Therefore, I’m very excited, as well as a little scared, because of the new experiences. But, you know what? I think that’s great! I mean, I’m thrilled, and that’s the best part of being a freelancer, I suppose. There’s always some challenge or another to face.
I should have a portfolio up and ready pretty soon, during this month or the next. Even though I’m doing freelance work, I’m still looking for a more stable source of income, and of course, career experience. I think I can keep up with everything if I am diligent and apply the necessary discipline, but we’ll see. Either way, I’ll try my best at it!
On other notes, I would like to announce that I have finally decided to participate in the NaNoWriMo. Yep! I’m actually going to dare writing a novel, even if it’s crappy. I know it’ll be a fantastic new experience for me, and it will take me further in my dream of becoming a real novelist. So, bring it on, babe! ;P
I guess that’s all for now, but I think I feel motivated to write more often right now, so I’ll probably do so. And with that said, I’m sure we’ll have another rambling coming up very soon! Until then, see you!
With much love,
- Jessica M. Vázquez Rodríguez, aka Arwym
